Hi. My name is Amelia. This blog is a collection of my culinary (and otherwise) attempts. The above left photo of me was taken during my 30th birthday attempt. The one on the right was shot a few months later during the Deep-Dish Pumpkin Meringue Pie Video Attempt. Sooooo, I think you get the idea of the kind of food blog I'm running here.
Matt graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and has written and directed several award-winning short films, including Presence, an adaptation of the Arthur Miller story, for Esquire magazine. Matt’s day job includes creating commercial photo and video content for a wide range of clients. He’s directed, shot, and edited web spots for companies including Ubisoft, Walmart, and Colgate.
Additionally Matt’s written a number of feature and TV scripts, two of which have been semi-finalists in the Nicholl Fellowships, Zoetrope, and Scriptapalooza screenplay competitions.

My husband Matt takes most of the pictures, and starting with this post, we now use a Canon 7D and a smattering of weird lenses.

My essay about my Kitchen Visit with my grandma won Best Culinary Essay in Saveur Magazine's 2011 Food Blog Awards. In 2012, Bon Appétempt won their Best Food Humor Blog category. My nonfiction has appeared in The McSweeney's Joke Book of Book Jokes. I'm currently at work on a memoir to be published with Grand Central sometime in the near future.
